Embracing the Digital Signage Revolution

In April 2023, Rowan Brunger joined Amino as the Sales Director, Digital Signage and his experience since then has been nothing short of transformational. With over two decades in the AV and digital signage industry, Rowan was aware of Amino’s legacy in IP video delivery. However, he saw an untapped potential for Amino to expand its reach in the digital signage and enterprise video markets, and he was eager to drive this change. Earlier this year, Rowan was asked about his experience of working with Amino over the last year.

Expanding Amino's Reach

Amino Communications, with its 25+ years of experience, has always been at the forefront of delivering hardware and software solutions for video content over IP. Historically focused on in-home entertainment (Pay TV), I recognized the opportunity to leverage this expertise to meet the growing demand for digital signage and enterprise video solutions.

Amino media players, particularly the H200 series, are renowned for their reliability and performance. The introduction of the H200W, with its wireless connectivity options, expanded its capabilities even further, allowing us to support a wider range of use cases in environments where wired connections are not feasible. Complementing the hardware, the cloud-based Remote Device Management (RDM) platform, Amino Orchestrate, has been a game-changer. It simplifies device management, offering centralized control and reducing the need for hands-on interaction with devices.

Driving Customer Success

One of my primary focuses has been on understanding and addressing the unique needs of Amino's diverse customer base. From governmental organizations seeking more updatable and hardware-efficient solutions to restaurant chains requiring comprehensive systems to manage both front-of-house and back-office screens, Amino's solutions have proven their versatility and reliability.

By working closely with various clients in sectors such as retail, education, and healthcare, I’ve ensured that Amino's offerings not only meet but exceed expectations. Amino’s dedication to providing exceptional customer service and technical support has resulted in the successful deployment of products across numerous challenging environments.

Building Strategic Partnerships

To ensure Amino’s solutions could meet the evolving demands of the digital signage market, I spearheaded the launch of Amino’s technology partner program. This initiative has enabled it to collaborate with Content Management System (CMS) vendors and other streaming partners, broadening our reach and enhancing our offerings.

One of the significant milestones was the development of Orchestrate to support media players from other manufacturers and System on Chip panels. This flexibility allows customers to integrate Amino’s powerful RDM platform without replacing their existing infrastructure, significantly reducing electronic waste and enhancing sustainability.

Overcoming Challenges and Celebrating Successes

Transitioning Amino’s focus from primarily serving the Pay TV market to embracing digital signage and enterprise video was not without its challenges. It required a comprehensive overhaul of internal processes, from updating terms and conditions to revamping support structures. However, the results have been immensely rewarding. Amino has seen a 200% increase in the deployment of its media players and a five-fold expansion in our partnerships and alliances network.

Reflecting on a Year of Growth

My motivation has always been rooted in a passion for innovation and the tangible benefits our solutions bring to various industries. This past year has been particularly exciting as we’ve navigated rapid adoption of our technologies and forged strategic partnerships that have led to exceptional customer deployments and significant market growth.

Looking ahead, my vision for Amino is to continue strengthening our position in the digital signage industry, building on our legacy of technical excellence and driving further innovation in IP video delivery. It’s been an exhilarating journey so far, and I’m excited about the future and the continued impact we can make in this dynamic industry.
